Product Description
Based on the worlds most famous chess set, this unique item consists of contrasting opposing forces with the ivory side being made up of traditional Lewis pieces and the walnut side mainly populated by alternative Lewis inspired and equally ancient characters giving you a highly distinctive and honest set not available anywhere else.
Construction:
Each set is hand cast in a hard and durable natural mineral giving a lovely carved stone like feel, painted, stained and lacquered to give a durable high quality result yet still retaining a certain ceramic and antique finish.
Queen Me:
As if the set itself wasn't distinctive enough you also get two extra queens included for when you manage to get your pawn down to the other end of the board and really don't want to be scrabbling around for something to use as an additional monarch.
Colors available:
Unless you specify otherwise the colors for these pieces are Deep Walnut for the dark and Mellow Ivory for the light. If you would prefer Jet Black or Antique Red instead of the walnut, or the ivory, then just let me know and I'll be more than happy to oblige.... In fact, you can mix and match any of these colors if you like. If you'd like any colors that aren't listed here then let me know before you purchase and I'm sure I'd be able to accommodate you.

The king is 3.5 inches in height and the set, unpacked, weighs approx 2 KG and would suit a board with squares 1.8 inches or more.
Vinyl Chess Mat:
This set also comes with an optional vinyl chess mat/board so you can start playing as soon as you receive it. This is a black and white mat with 2 inch squares and is tough, durable and wipe clean.
Packaging:
Each piece is individually wrapped in bubble wrap and then the whole set. This is then packed in a sturdy cardboard box into which is packed polystyrene peanuts for extra padding.
NOTE:
And don't forget, you can create your own bespoke set put together using any of the pieces from any of the sets in my shop in any colors you like. A real mix and match. So, for example, if you would like an Isle of Lewis set but prefer the King from a different set and/or the pawns from another set then that's no problem. As long as I currently make the pieces you can create whatever set you like. Simply request a custom order with your requirements and I'll do my best to accommodate. ☺
